Hi, I’m Trish Marmo.

As a Registered Nurse of 25+ years, Health & Wellness Coach and Mom of five kids, I know exactly how pregnancy can affect your body and your self-esteem and like most women, I just assumed that that was the trade-off for becoming a Mom!

In fact, after the birth of my 4th child, my doctor recommended surgery for my belly bulge (diastasis) and told me of all the terrible things that could happen if I chose not to have it: chronic constipation, prolapsed bladder, prolapsed uterus, hernia, urinary incontinence—never mind the bulge that made me look pregnant when I wasn’t!

I was only thirty-two at the time and hadn’t had my 5th baby yet. Imagine being thirty-two and having the doctor describe symptoms that sound like something someone more than twice your age might experience?! Having multiple pregnancies was almost a relief—at least I had a legitimate reason for my stomach to stick out—but what about the rest? Was having five pregnancies not only going to make me look older than I was, but actually make me feel older too?

The cost associated with having surgery was one thing—they’re EXPENSIVE—but when I considered the risks associated with surgery, the pain and the mess of having drainage tubes and a recovery time of SIX WEEKS minimum I knew surgery was not for me! I didn’t like the idea of looking like a middle-aged woman, but I disliked the idea of surgery more!

That all changed when the youngest of my five was seven and I decided to reclaim my health and get my body back! No one I personally knew thought it could be done, even my Doctor was skeptical, but not only did I heal my own Diastasis Recti, I competed onstage in a Fitness Bikini Competition for the first time at age 45!

Some trainers may suggest exercises for women with DR without realizing that they could be contributing to and unnecessarily prolonging the problem.

Study results on DR is varied, but the prevalence of DR ranges anywhere from 30% up to 60% of all parous women (women who have given birth), whether they’ve had one child or many. Though the incidence is higher in women over 35, pregnancy with multiples and those who deliver large babies, it can occur with even first-time Moms. DR can also occur in the general population as well, with a sedentary lifestyle, improper body mechanics, smoking, poor dietary habits and excess weight being contributors[1].

The good news is, once you’re aware of the ways you could be contributing to the problem, you can take the necessary steps to correct it. The exercises in this program are designed specifically to do just that!

Not every woman gets ab separation during pregnancy, but for those who do, the results can be more than just a visible bulge: Urinary incontinence (leakage), constipation, hernia, uterine prolapse, increased risk for first time or repeat C-section, and chronic low back pain can all result from pelvic floor dysfunction, yet all are preventable.

In fact, using a program like Bye-Bye Baby Belly, before first time pregnancy or even in between pregnancies can help improve your pelvic floor strength and decrease your risk of developing diastasis.

"My youngest is 30, can I still use this program?"

YES! Strengthening of the muscles of the abdomen, “core”, and pelvic floor is for women of ANY age!

"My baby turns a year old next month, will this work for me?"

YES!  It’s never too soon to begin abdominal strengthening exercises.

"I've had ____kids, what about me?"

YES! No matter how many children you have, it is possible to close the gap.

"I've just had my first child and plan to have more. Will your program still work?"

YES! Strengthening your core can decrease the chances of future occurrences of diastasis recti and decrease the risk of C-section due to DR.

"I've never had kids, but I still have a "pooch", is this program right for me?"

If your pooch is due to DR, YES!  Anyone—men and women—can have a separation in their rectus muscles due to lack of exercise, increased weight gain, or a sedentary lifestyle.

"I've never had kids, but my belly has always been a problem area, can I use your program?"

YES! If your belly issues are because of a separation in your abdominal muscles! If your belly is due to weight gain, however, you should check out my Meal Plans.

"I've struggled with my weight my entire life!"

YES! Frequently, early childhood weight gain or struggling with weight your entire life can precipitate DR, or a separation of the rectus muscles.  If you have a lot of weight to lose, I would suggest addressing weight loss first, then working to close your DR—if your doctor says you have one. Weight loss is a separate issue, though DR and being overweight can exist concurrently.

"I'm a yo-yo dieter, will this plan work for me?"

NO! This is not a weight loss program, but a plan to close the separation between the two main abdominal muscles called the rectus abdominus.  If you are looking for a Custom Meal Plan, check out what I have to offer, here.

"I am a smoker, can I use this program?"

Smoking decreases the amount of oxygen available to the body to carry out normal processes such as wound healing.  Since DR results from an  overstretching or partial/complete tearing of the connective tissues, smoking is not an ideal scenario during this program.

"How long is this program?"

The exercises in this program are designed to be used for however long it takes to close your DR*, however, once you purchase you will have lifetime access to the group.
