My Approach…

While I’m confident that I can help most anyone lose weight, gain confidence and get their bodies back after dedicating themselves to their careers and raising children, I specialize in working with women in their 40s and 50s who are at a crossroads in their lives as a result of a personal wake up call.

A wake up call can look different to each person…

Some experience a health wake up call first-hand, like I did, when I suffered from mini-strokes at the age of 45, others slowly wake up to the fact that they’re not happy with themselves or what they’ve become, still others simply get tired of watching the people they know and love neglect their health and die prematurely. There’s something about the uncertainties of this stage of life that really makes this all too real!

Ready, willing and able…

What is certain, however, is that my clients are ready, willing and able to make changes, they just need the right support and the right framework to make sure that their changes work for their lifestyle and are lasting. That means, no diets, no quick fixes, no tricks, gimmicks or fancy cleanses, that the diet culture promotes as the only solution. It’s not!

I believe that life gives us options:

  • Option 1: Choosing to remain where you are and experience a slow, steady, decline
  • Option 2: Choosing to wait, do nothing and see what happens
  • Option 3: Choosing to take charge of your health, and your life, and turn this around for an even better life for you and your family.

If this sounds like you…

If this sounds like you, you can rest assured that I will guide you through the following steps that will have a profound impact on your weight, your health, your mood, your energy, and how you look and how you feel about yourself.

But first, you have to meet me here, at the crossroads, and choose the path you want to take. I work with those who have chosen option 3. You may not know what to do next, but that’s okay. That’s what I’m here for.

So, what does it really take to lose weight and get healthy after 45, while also juggling a demanding career and a family life?

It starts with food…

First, it all starts with food. Most women over 45 do not need one more thing to do. Trying to get fit, start exercising AND reverse premature aging symptoms and health concerns is just too much for people juggling a career, family life and more. I have found if you start with food, you can very quickly see results. The kind of results that feel so good, the next thing you know you’ll WANT to start exercising. Start with food, and let that work it’s magic on you. I promise that’s easier and more effective.

Unique to you…

Second, it helps to understand that what works for one person, may not work for another. That’s why it’s important to discover a way of eating that works for you; not only one that suits your body, but one that takes into account your lifestyle, your career demands, your personal preferences, your energy requirements and your personal needs.

Armed with this mindset, here’s what makes my approach work really well for my clients and the steps I guide them through:

Step 1:  Take Charge of Your Healthcare and your life!

Once you’ve made the decision to change—maybe you’re resentful or maybe you’re excited—you’ll start by learning how to take the lead in your healthcare. I’ll show you what to say to ensure you get the right information from your medical team. Sometimes, your doctor just needs to know you’re ready to do something about this, rather than continue taking more and more meds. Together we’ll determine what steps you should take to get support from your doctor, spouse, extended family and friends.

Step 2: Understand How You Got Here and Set a New Course

It’s one thing when your medical team says your cholesterol is too high, or your liver is congested, or your BMI is too high, followed by some vague suggestions for turning this around like “exercise more” or “eat better.” I’ll help you understand what your labwork really means, and what might be missing from your body and how that translates to what you eat. By setting an action-plan based on your personalized medical information, we will  set goals which are measurable, attainable and immediately beneficial to YOU.

Step 3: Develop Your Personal Roadmap for Getting You There

Once you understand how you got here and how your body has been trying to get your attention, we’ll create a plan for getting you where you want to go, one meal at a time. Whether that’s weight-loss, improving your mood, addressing sleep quality, increasing your energy levels, boosting your immune function, taking years off your appearance, or relieving symptoms of fatigue

Step 4: Set Yourself Up for Success with Personalized Coaching to Ensure this Works (and Lasts)!

You are a unique and wonderful individual at a very  stage of life. I understand what it’s like to be responsible for so many moving parts – family, career, and so much more. I also understand what it’s like to be scared by a personal wake up call and the knowledge  that things MUST work. There’s no going back! In light of this, all of my Clients receive my individualized attention, to ensure results.

Step 5: Start By Creating a Healthy Eating Habit and Ride the Ripple Effect

In order for change to be lasting it has to become a part of who you already are and what you already do.  DIETS fail because they aren’t sustainable.  DIETS were never meant to be used long-term. If you haven’t addressed your relationship with your food habits and behaviors, you’ll eventually fall back on what you’ve always done. That’s why my coaching and mentoring comes with a full education in the 6 pillars of habit change, so that I can help you through the twists and turns of daily challenges. By focusing on creating ONE habit at a time, beginning with your nutrition, you’ll see the ripple effect this focus has on all areas of your life: your relationships, your patience, your productivity, your focus, and of course, your body.

“Before I started my fitness journey, Trish Marmo was someone I looked up to for inspiration, a beautiful person inside and out. Thanks to Trish, I started with improving form on my main lifts, learned what foods worked for me and when it worked best to incorporate cardio. She was there for me through all the bumps and bruises of a novice bodybuilder. She still continues to guide and inspire me to this day. I can’t appreciate her enough for what she has done for me! I feel like a strong, beautiful and capable young woman.”

Cheyenne M. age: 20, F.L.

“After almost thirty years and raising four kids, my doctor told me that I had to make a change. After reviewing the Fitness Moments’ site on Facebook and communicating with other members, I felt I had a family of believers that would support my fitness goals. But it was Trish and how “real” she is when she shares that made the difference. Simply put, Trish is tenacious leader who helps people get results and why Trish has my loyalty–what she does works! It also helped that working with her was like talking to “one of the guys”.”

Peter V. age: 51, F.L.

“A fantastic experience. Able to answer anything I asked. Experienced with a lot of the same life issues as I have or had!”

Anonymous. age: 38, Australia

“I’ve already recommended the program (Six Weeks To A Better You) because it’s worked so well for me!”

Sandra G. age: 48, I.L.

“A few years back I went through a very difficult time. I was upset with the direction my life was going, how I lost control of my weight. I felt depressed and I felt I let myself down. I saw Trish’s information on Facebook, I was immediately impressed of how she took care of her self and how open she was with her journey. So one day I got on the scale it read 230, I started working out, watching her and trying to keep up and in 5 months I was down to 194, I was lean, I had 12-14% body fat. I was so proud of myself. I owe it all to Trish! Thank you.”

Mike H. age: 48, M.O.

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Trish Marmo for several years. I not only consider her to be a valued friend, but a capable and trustworthy colleague in the fitness / wellness arena as well. I know her to be dedicated to her family first, her clients second and her career advancement third. I enthusiastically recommend Trish as competent solution for all your health and wellness needs.”

Ren Jones. NASM CPT

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much! Trish who has helped me with my journey. There is nothing more rewarding knowing that I now have a friend and mentor who has helped me improve my health, not only my physical appearance, but above all, my self-esteem. Trish put me on some new healthier eating habits. My liver that was once enlarged is now back to normal size. Trish is a woman of strength, courage and dignity; one who values health and fitness. A woman who will not give up on helping people with their fitness goals regardless of how many obstacles stand in the way.”
